“For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.”— Romans 14:9
At the heart of our faith is the cross. The crucifixion of Jesus was not an accident or a tragedy without meaning — it was the very plan of God to bring salvation to the world.
On the cross, Jesus bore the full weight of our sins. Every failure, every burden, and every shame was placed upon Him. What looked like defeat was actually victory. In His suffering, we find forgiveness. In His death, we find life.
The crucifixion is more than a story from history; it is a call to live differently. It reminds us that love is sacrificial, not selfish. It calls us to humility, gratitude, and faith. The cross is where mercy and justice meet, and it is where we see God’s love in its fullest expression.
When we look to the cross, we are reminded that we are never beyond the reach of God’s grace. Through Christ’s sacrifice, we are forgiven, redeemed, and given eternal hope.
Jesus, thank You for the cross. Thank You for carrying my sin and shame so I could walk in freedom. Help me to live each day with gratitude for Your sacrifice and the courage to share Your love with others. Amen.
